30th Annual Memorial Day Classic

The Framingham United Soccer Club invites you to share in what we know will be a great tournament experience for you and your players this Memorial Day weekend 2011!   Our tournament has a hotel coordinator who holds blocks of discounted hotel rooms for our tournament teams. For further information, please contact Stephen Smoller at ssmoller@yahoo.com. Framingham, MA is easy to get to with 2 exits on the Massachusetts Turnpike. The town is a regional center with excellent shopping, a newly expanded Natick Mall renovation (Natick Collection), restaurants and hotels. It has great access to Boston for after-game touring.   Our experienced and well-organized tournament committee also is regularly complimented by those who play in the tournament each year. The committee and our volunteers are dedicated to making your clubs participation here an enjoyment for all. In 2010, we provided quality, competitive play for 135 teams. Come experience our tournament in the new two day format as we welcome back many of our returning participants! We look forward to seeing you.   Our tournament will be accepting both girls and boys soccer teams in the following age groups: U9, U10, U11, U12, U14, U16 and U18. Our tournament is a patch tournament where teams will exchange their club patch with another player of the opposing team after each game. (The patch exchange is for the U9 through U14 teams age levels).   The U9 and U10 teams will play a 6v6 format with 4 games guaranteed. Age appropriate goal sizes are used at this level and all games are two, 25-minute halves! Participation awards will be given after the final game on Sunday.   The U11 and U12 teams will play an 8v8 format with 3 games guaranteed. These games will be played on Saturday and Sunday with the playoffs (if qualified) played on Sunday afternoon. Age appropriate goal sizes are used at this level and all preliminary games are two, 25-minute halves while the playoff games are two, 30-minute halves. Trophies will be awarded to all runners-up and champions.   The U14, U16 and U18 teams will play an 11v11 format with 3 games guaranteed. These games will be played on Saturday and Sunday and the playoffs (if qualified) will be on Sunday afternoon. All preliminary games are two, 25-minute halves and playoff games are two, 30-minute halves. Trophies will be awarded to all runners-up and champions.
