The Oakwood Soccer Club, Inc. is pleased to invite your team to apply to the 26th annual Oakwood Premier Invitational to be held in Connecticut on May 26-29, 2017. Our feature site is the TD Bank Oakwood Soccer Park in Portland, CT featuring 2 full-sized artificial turf pitches, both with lights.
This year we will accept teams U9 thru U19 that are currently registered in good standing with their USYSA state association or US Club Soccer. All teams will compete 11v11 except for the U9, U10, U11 & U12 small-sided divisions. U9's and U10's will play 8v8; U11's and U12's will play 9v9. For the U15 through U19 age divisions teams are encouraged to bring player profiles for distribution to college coaches attending.
In order to maintain the high competitive quality of our event, the number of teams selected will be limited to approximately 170; Teams will be selected on the strength of their league, tournament records and geographical balance. As proven by our history, all divisions will compete at a very high level. We are looking for Regional and State Premier League Champions. Last year’s teams came from nine northeastern states. This year brackets will be extremely limited and highly competitive.

APPLICATION - A separate application for each team must be submitted electronically with the entry fee of $750.00 (US Currency) per team for age groups U9, U10, U11, U12 and $850.00 (US Currency) per team for age groups U13 through U19. Checks should be made out to "Oakwood Soccer Club". Acceptances will be posted on or after April 7, 2017. If not selected, money will be refunded immediately.
If a team has been accepted and drops out, the fee is forfeited.
No refunds will be made for inclement weather.
FORMAT - All teams will receive a minimum of three matches (U9/10 get 4 matches with no play on Mon). Play will begin Saturday* at 8:00am or later. Most teams will play two matches Saturday and one Sunday followed by semi-finals later that day. All Championship matches will be played Monday morning. *Special feature games may be scheduled Friday & Sat. evening.
AGE GROUPS - Teams are based on USSF/USYSA age groups:
Boy’s U-19/18 & Girl’s U19/18 Born on or after January 1, 1998
Boy’s U-17 & Girl’s U-17 Born on or after January 1, 2000
Boy’s U-16 & Girl’s U-16 Born on or after January 1, 2001
Boy’s U-15 & Girl’s U-15 Born on or after January 1, 2002
Boy’s U-14 & Girl’s U-14 Born on or after January 1, 2003
Boy’s U-13 & Girl’s U-13 Born on or after January 1, 2004
Boy’s U-12 & Girl’s U-12 Born on or after January 1, 2005
Boy’s U-11 & Girl’s U-11 Born on or after January 1, 2006
Boy’s U-10 & Girl’s U-10 Born on or after January 1, 2007
Boy’s U-9 & Girl’s U-9 Born on or after January 1, 2008
ELIGIBILITY - This is a US Club Soccer sanctioned tournament. All teams must be affiliated with USSF/US Club Soccer/USYSA and must be in good standing.
REGISTRATION/TOURNAMENT CHECK-IN - Team registration will be done electronically via email. Information on how to complete this will be emailed to each team. Player passes, certified rosters and medical release forms will need to be scanned & emailed by a deadline TBA. No on-site registration will take place.
AWARDS - A team plaque and individual medals for first place teams and finalists in each age group will be presented, except U9 & 10 divisions, which are no standings divisions.

REFEREES - A USSF three-man referee system will be used for all matches except U9 through U12 small sided. We encourage all teams applying to indicate on their application the names of any certified referee who may be interested in officiating or they can contact our tournament assignor ref@oakwoodsoccer.com
VENUES - The outdoor field complexes at Addison Park, Smith Middle, Nayaug & Hebron Ave. Schools, Glastonbury; Goodrich Park, West Hartford and Manchester Memorial Fields have all provided excellent playing surfaces for this event in the recent past.
