San Antonio Sports is recognized as one of the premier sports commissions in the nation.” Tournament Rules Classifications and Age Divisions:   The Classics Elite Spring Classic are hosted By Classics Elite Soccer Club and sponsored  by Ancira and sanctioned by the South Texas Youth Soccer Association (STYSA). The tournament is open to boys and girls Academy teams from ages U7 through U12. Single age group brackets, as well as level of play brackets will be formed where sufficient applications support the groupings.   Team Registration: Registration must be completed by completing the application found on the Classics Elite website www.classicselite.us  and paying by credit card on the website.  Teams will not be accepted into the tournament to be bracketed and scheduled until payment is received.  No mail in checks will be accepted; all teams must register and pay online.   Team registration fees are as follows:   Registration Fees will be U7-U8             4v4      $225.00 U9-U10           7v7      $400.00 U11-U 12        9v9      $475.00   Registration and payment must be completed by April 21, 2018 to be considered accepted.   Roster Size: U7-U8            4v4        8    Players U8-10            7v7        12   Players U11-U12        9v9        16   Players   Guest players: maximum 4 (Must have current, laminated player card and medical release on all guest players)   Check in: All teams must provide the following at check-in: Each team should bring laminated player cards and completed medical release forms for each player, including guest players. These will be verified against the roster, and travel papers (for teams outside of STYSA) if applicable. If the forms submitted prior to check-in have been modified, a new copy must be provided. All Teams are required to check in at the fields one hour prior to the team’s first scheduled game time at the Tournament HQ where their team is playing.  A player may play for only one team in the tournament and must be listed on the approved roster.  Team rosters are frozen upon check-in, no players may be added during the course of the tournament.  If a player plays in a game and is not properly registered, the team will automatically forfeit that game and may face further penalties as determined by the Tournament Director. The wearing of hard cast, weather padded or not, will not be permitted at any time (per STYSA).     Game information: All teams will be guaranteed to play three games. In round robin play, ties at the end of regulation time will stand. In all advancement games including semi-finals and finals the taking of penalty kicks (according to USSF guidelines) will break ties at the end of regulation. 4v4 Rules 1. Each match will be played in the 4v4 format, consisting of 4 field players and NO goalkeepers 2. Restriction/build out line, the restriction line/build out line which will be the midline. On goal kicks, the defending team must drop behind the restriction/build out line. The opposing team’s players may cross the restriction/build out line after the attacker has received the ball/after the attacker first touch outside the box. 3. The Duration of the Match 3x 15 min intervals with 2min rest periods in between 4. Heading the ball is not allowed, if a player heads the ball a drop ball shall be awarded at the spot the ball was headed at if a player heads the ball inside the penalty area, a drop ball is awarded on the restriction/build out line. 5. There are no thrown in, all restarts are kick in’s which are all indirect kicks. 6. GOAL BOX: The goal box or arc. No player may touch the ball within the goal box, however any player may move through the goal box. Any part of the ball or player's body on the line is considered in the goal box; the player is an extension of the box. An INFRACTION occurs if a defender touches the ball in the goal box, a penalty kick is awarded to the offensive team. If an offensive player touches the ball within the goal box, a goal kick is awarded to the defensive team. Habitual touches in the goal box MAY result with a Yellow Card given to offending party. If the ball comes to a complete stop in the goal box, regardless of which team touched it last, a goal kick is awarded to the defensive team. 7.  NO OFFSIDES IN 4v4 AND NO SLIDE TACKLING 8. GOAL SCORING: A goal may be scored from a touch on the offensive half on the playing field. 7v7 Rules   1. Each match will be played in the 7v7 format, consisting of 6 field players and one goalkeeper. 2. Restriction/build out line – We will have a restriction line/build out line that will be 10 yards from the top of the penalty area. This Line must be visible with a painted blue line.  On goal kicks the defending team must drop behind the restriction/build out line. The opposing team’s players may cross the restriction/build out line after the attacker has received the ball/after the attackers first touch outside the box. On goalkeeper possession  the defending team must drop behind the restriction/build out line. The opposing team’s players may cross the restriction/build out line after the attacker has received the ball/after the attackers first touch outside the box. 3. Punting Rule: Punting the ball (defined below) is not allowed in any game.  If a the GK punts the ball:  play is stopped and the opposing team is awarded an indirect free kick on the midfield line. Definition of punting: Goalkeeper cradles the ball in the palm of the hand (or both hands) drives the kicking foot forward through the ball; the kicking leg comes forward on the follow through; step forward onto the kicking foot and then ball flights. Once the ball comes out of the goal area and out of the Goalkeeper's hands will be considered punting. It will be considered punting also when the Goalkeeper drop kicks the ball. It involves a player dropping the ball and then kicking it when it bounces off the ground. 4. Heading the ball is not allowed If a player heads the ball outside the penalty area, a drop ball shall be awarded at the spot the ball was headed at, If a player heads the ball inside the penalty area, a drop ball is awarded on the restriction/build out line.  5. Throw ins - Conform with FIFA rules.  Game length: Teams must be at the field and ready for inspection 15 minutes prior to game time.  Preliminary, semi-final and final games will be: U 7-U 8           4 x 10 minute quarters U9 - U10         2 x 25 minute halves U11-U12         2 x 30 minute halves Semi-Final and Final games that tie will go straight to Penalty Kicks in the event of a tie.    Playing Conditions: In the event of inclement weather, the Tournament Director has the authority to restructure or cancel the tournament. In the event the tournament is canceled, partial refunds will be given (Tournament Fee less expenses at a minimum of 25%). Every effort will be made to complete the tournament. Once a game has started the decision will rest with the referee and Director of Referees. Games will be considered complete if one half has been played in full. The home team is listed first on the schedule and will wear light colored jerseys.  The visiting team is listed second on the schedule and will wear dark jerseys.  In the event of a conflict, the team who is not following the rules will be required to change. Both teams will occupy the same side of the field. Parents and spectators will occupy the opposite side across from their team’s bench.   Scoring: 6 points for a win 3 points for a tie 0 points for a loss 1 point for a shut out 1 point for each goal up to 3   Forfeit equals 10 points. If a team forfeits more than one game, the team will be considered to have abandoned the tournament and the points from all of their games will not be counted in the standings. In the event of a 0-0 tie, the scoring will be 3 points for the tie and 1 for the shut out, for a total of 4 points per team.   Advancement: Specific advancement rules by bracket will be available at check in.   Tie breakers: 1. Results of head to head competition 2. Goal difference (total goals for minus total goals allowed) up to +/- 5 per game 3. Totals goals allowed up to a maximum of 5 per game 4. Total goals scored up to a maximum of 5 per game  5. Penalty Kicks   Score Cards: All players with numbers should be listed on the game card in order to be eligible to play in the match. If a player is sitting out due to misconduct or illness, please note that on the game card and let the referee and opposing coach know.  Home team is responsible for supplying the game card. Score cards must be checked at the conclusion of the game to verify the score and any cards issued. The referee must record the score and sign the card after each game. Both coaches should also sign the card. The referee will be responsible for turning in the official game card to the Referee Site Coordinator or appropriate Tournament Staff for posting of scores.     Discipline: Red Card: A player receiving a red card must sit out the remainder of that game and the next game. A player receiving two red cards will be suspended from the remainder of the tournament. Yellow Cards: If a player receives three yellow cards that player will be suspended for the next tournament game. It is the coach’s responsibility to sit an ineligible player, and let the referee and the opposing coach know the reason that the player is sitting out (red card, multiple yellow cards, etc.) Misconduct of teams, players, coaches, spectators, or supporters will not be tolerated on or off the field. Any of the above may be withdrawn from the competition at the discretion of the Tournament Director and reported to the Host State Association and the team's State/National Association. Coaches are responsible for the conduct of their team and supporters both on and off the fields.   Protest: All referee decisions are final. No protests allowed.   Awards: Awards will be presented to the 1st and 2nd place teams within each group immediately after the championship game.    Other Matters: The Tournament Director will decide upon any matter not provided for in the tournament rules. Decisions of the Tournament Director will be final.
