2016 Reddan Spring Shootout

2:30 PM -- April 7, 2016 The 2016 Reddan Spring Shootout has been cancelled.   Hello 2016 Reddan Spring Shootout Participants, Unfortunately, we have to cancel the 2016 Reddan Spring Shootout.  As anyone who lives in the upper Midwest knows, we have received a lot of rain and even snow over the past two weeks.  The fields have not dried up sufficiently to be played on.  And while some of our fields are playable for one game, they would not be for 5, 10 or 20 games over the course of a weekend.  Some are not playable at all even now and I would describe as like stepping onto a big, saturated sponge.   If you are in a hotel commitment, please call them immediately and make your cancellations so you can optimize your refund.   On our end, we will begin to process the refunds tomorrow, according to our refund policy which is detailed in the participation agreement and rules.  And we will be sending confirmation emails/note as we process each one of these refunds. Please understand that this is no easy decision.  Up until even an hour ago we were inspecting fields trying to find ways to offer this event, rather than not offer it.  Multiple people are involved in the field assessment process and it was quite unanimous.  We even tried to do the calculus on doing 1 or 2 age groups on our synthetic field; but found that not doable either.  I hope you believe me when I convey that, indeed, we have committed to the time and up front costs to make this work and, ultimately, it would be unwise to move forward in hosting the Spring Shootout.  It is also worth noting, although this only weighed partly on the decision, the Sunday forecast calls for 90% change of rain; the morning temps on both Sat and Sun expected at 20 and 30 degrees.
