The 2012 Capitol Cup tournament offers high-quality soccer competition in a fun, 'low-hassle' setting that's perfect for teams of all ages. Appropriate format. For U-9 and U-10 teams (6v6): round-robin non-results format, guarantee of 4 matches per team, and awards for all participating players ensure a positive experience for everyone. For U-11 and U-12 teams (8v8) and U-13 and U-14 teams (11v11): a guarantee of 3 matches per team with a playoff for tournament champion, provides a good mix of fun and competition. Convenient location. Easily accessible from I-89 and I-93, Concord, NH, the New Hampshire Technical Institute (NHTI) is only a short drive from northern and southern NH, VT, ME, and MA. Manageable size. Participation is limited to 70 total teams, you can focus on playing soccer instead of fighting crowds. And -- all matches will be held at a single field complex! Tournament divisions. Competition will be offered in 5 divisions: U-9/EDP Coed, U-10 boys, U-10 girls, U-11 boys, U-11 girls, U-12 boys, U-12 girls, U-13 boys, U-13 girls, U-14 boys, U-14 girls. Please note: age groups and divisions are dependent on the number of applications received in that age group and division. The Tournament Director retains the right to combine age groups if needed. The tournament will consist of 3 preliminary matches and 1-2 playoff matches. All teams are guaranteed at least 3 matches. A tournament champion will be recognized. Dates and times. Matches will take place on Saturday, October 06, 8:00am-6:30pm, and Sunday, October 07, 8:00am-5:30pm. Teams will receive their awards after their last match. All teams need to check-in at least 1 hour prior to their first match, and the check-in area will open at 7:00am on Saturday. Location. Tournament headquarters and all matches will be played at the Express Soccer Club Field Complex at New Hampshire Technical Institute (NHTI), 20 College Drive, Concord, NH. Basic refreshments (cold drinks, coffee, and snacks) will be available for sale at the tournament site as well as hot sandwiches catered by Top Shelf. Directions: I-93, Exit 15 East to I-393 to Exit 1 and follow signs for New Hampshire Technical Institute. Rules. Matches will be played according to standard FIFA laws, with some modifications appropriate for U-9, U-10, U-11, U-12, U-13, and U-14 competition. The regular entry fee is $330/team for U-9 teams, $355/team for U-10 teams, $405/team for U-11 and U-12 teams, and $480/team for U-13 and U-14 teams. All applications must be received by Saturday, September 15, 2012. All out of state teams must submit a permission to travel form approved by their state. The tournament is open to any U-9,U-10, U-11, U-12, U-13, U-14 travel or rec team registered with their state chapter of the US Youth Soccer Association. All players must be registered with the US Youth Soccer Association and either be listed on a state approved roster or have player passes. Check-in Materials: Teams accepted into the tournament must check-in at least 1 hour prior to their first tournament match. At check-in, the team will need to have the following documents (Med Release can be downloaded by clicking the "Forms" menu at the top of the page): 1. State certified team roster 2.
