San Tan Holiday Classic 2009

This will be the 24th anniversary of the Holiday Classic Tournament. The tournament is held each December in beautiful Chandler, Arizona. While most other areas of the country are cold, wet and sometimes snowy at this time of year, we enjoy warm sunny weather ideal for outdoor sports. Teams in age groups U7 through U14 are invited to apply. Come and join in the fun as some of the best young teams meet for a weekend of great soccer! Each team is guaranteed a minimum of three games, with many playing four games (except U7). Team brackets are determined by the Tournament Director and will be based upon the information supplied on the tournament application form. A maximum of five (5) loan players will be allowed. New this year will be a jamboree format for U7 teams. Teams will play 5v5, including the goalkeeper. Games will ONLY be held on Saturday, with each team playing two games. At halftime of each game, one team from each game will switch fields to play a different opponent. Fun activities will be held between games. This jamboree format is meant to instill a fun atmosphere for the kids, and provide an introduction to tournament style play for both the players and parents. The format will allow families to get a taste of tournaments without spending an entire weekend at the fields! Games will be played at Scottsdale Sports Complex (formerly CAP Basin), Snedigar Sportsplex in Chandler, Red Mountain Soccer Complex in Mesa, and Quail Run in Mesa. U7 teams shall play 5v5, U8 teams shall play 7v7, U9-U11 shall play 8v8, and U12-U14 shall play 11v11.
