The Kentucky Derby Festival produces over 70 events annually and has been the two-week celebration leading to the Kentucky Derby since 1956. The Louisville Cup Boys Tournament weekend (April 29-30, 2017) will take place with the Kentucky Derby Festival in full swing; During Louisville Cup Boys Tournament weekend, KDF will also be producing The Mini-Marathon, Great Balloon Race and Glow of Hot Air Balloons that can usually be seen over the soccer fields while games are being played Saturday morning. Additionally, the (KDF-hosted) Chow Wagon and FestiVille events at the Waterfront are a great place for out of town teams to enjoy the Kentucky Derby Festival on Friday and Saturday when teams are not playing.
