U9-U11 Cal North Junior Cup Festival

Cal North Junior Cup Festival is comprised of the three distinct levels of cups offered for U9 through U11 teams. Teams in U10 Founders’ Cup Division, U9-U11 Association Cup Division and U9-U11 State Cup Division will participate in a fun-filled festival-style event which is open to CYSA Cal North member teams. Founders’ Cup is exclusively for any team in the U10 age group that participated solely in a recreational playing league. Association Cup is for the U9, U10 or U11 entry-to-mid-level competitive teams. Association Cup Division applicants must have competed at the Silver Elite level or lower. State Cup Division is for any level of team in the U9, U10 or U11 age groups but its goal is to provide cup competition for the upper-to-high level competitive teams that compete at the Premier or Gold level in league play. Districts may employ a selection process for sending teams to Junior Cup Festival. District selected teams will have first priority for placement in brackets. Any remaining bracket slots will be filled by random selection from any at large applications that have been submitted. Jr Cup Festival serves as the introduction to the Cal North Cup Series and allows participants to see first-hand the different levels of play at one consolidated playing location. Jr Cup Festival begins with a weekend of preliminary round play scheduled to take place on November 22-23, from which bracket-winners advance to the single elimination rounds on December 7-8. Cup play culminates with the Cup Championships extravaganza in each of the three divisions of play at which the state champions are crowned and awards presented to teams and players alike. Tentative plans are to schedule the Jr Cup Festival at the Morgan Hill Outdoor Sports Center and Cherry Island Soccer Complex. Schedules will be announced in mid-November. Entry fees are $300. Teams that complete their application and/or payment after the 5 PM November 15, 2014 deadline will be placed in the Reserve Pool. Placement in Reserve Pool does not guarantee acceptance to Junior Cup Festival.
